View Full Version : Forum moving to NZ

A special greeting to all samsters. I would like to announce an exciting new development.

I'm moving the forum to NZ simply because the current laws regarding prostitution here are straightforward and easy to understand.

When I first started creating websites in NZ, the country was backward and its laws were archaic. While prostitution was legal in Singapore, it was still criminalised here. Singapore, in fact, was far more progressive than the snotty Kiwis.

All this changed in 2003 with the passing of the Prostitution Reform Act 2003

Prostitution Reform Act 2003
Public Act 2003 No 28
Date of assent 27 June 2003
Commencement see section 2

http://www.legislation.govt.nz/act/public/2003/0028/latest/DLM197815.html

With this piece of legislature, I started work with a clear and concise guide regarding what was acceptable and what was illegal.

...more to come.

While the forum is being moved, the rest of the sections will remain active while I attempt to bring the content in line with the expectations of conservative Singaporeans.

It is indeed strange that while Singapore was far more liberal in NZ when I first started work on nz web sites, the tide seems to have turned since the dawn of the new millennium and Singapore has become more uptight about sex in general while the Kiwis have become a lot more easy going.

Last week's backlash against my site was a real shock to me. I need to visit Singapore more often as I have obviously lost touch with the pulse of Singapore society

I thought that with the introduction of casinos and the pending legalisation of on line gambling, the intro of Crazy Horse (a bold move although it was not a commercial success), the pink ribbon parade etc, Singapore was moving with the times too. The current revolt against sammyboy has brought me crashing back to earth.

... to be continued.

While I compose my thoughts over the next few days and add to this thread, all Singaporean of all colours and creeds, ministers, civil servants, social workers, opposition politicians, ordinary working class or privileged landed property owners, gay or straight, left leaning liberal or god fearing right, are most welcome to chip in at any time and add to the discussion.

Social commentary is needed in order to define values, cultures and limits.

I am surprised to see that this forum has changed so much in the short few days that I have been away.

This forum will always be welcome in Singapore. The storm will blow away in time to come and most Singaporeans who are against SBF now will put the site behind them.

What pains me the most is your decision to include more Asian countries to this forum. For the past years that I have been here, this forum has been distinctively Singaporean, with some exceptions. This is one of the more unique points of the forum that I value very much as a Singaporean. Before stumbling on this forum, I read my erotica on other sites which do not contain local content. This site has allowed me to share and enjoy local erotic content which is very rare.

This site has also allowed me to enjoy many locally produced photos and videos which I found to be in short supply before I discovered this forum.

I hope that there can be at least an adult discussion section and a picture sharing section which is reserved exclusively for local contents. And while I do not visit FLs, I hope that dome L can be retained because it is imperative for us locals to advertise our services exclusively in the face of stiff foreign competition.

I am very proud to be a member of this forum and I wish you, boss, all the best.

All I am doing is using this revamp to sort out the mess in the Malaysian and International folders by creating separate sections for the major cities. The content was getting too messy and information was hard to find without doing deep searches.

The NZ section is mainly for me to assist those who are visiting.

The existing folders like Adult discussions etc will not be changed in any way. However, I need to keep out the troublemakers and depraved individuals that have jeopardized the forum for the majority of law abiding Singaporeans that congregate here. :p That's why I have culled thousands of dodgy looking accounts.

Oh, the big irony (of kiwis and sinkies). Unsure if this has to do with latter's conservative trend, or your losing ground with absence from red dot. :D

No matter, you opted for clean move to kiwi domicile.

Btw, can't help noticing the cosmetic change is skin colour (refreshing change too):D

This morning i see the change in the colour of the forum and the feel of it. Yes i like it, it is a cleaner feeling.

next i was laughing at the quote by Robin Williams at the top banner but the quote is now gone lols! :D

Then i saw the best of thailand all the clubbing hang outs.

Then this... the kiwi hang outs!

Yes there are many singaporeans with 6inch dildos stuck in their arse yet proclaim that they can accept anything as a modern nation, simply put hypocrites and pretentious!

I enjoy this site for its humour, truth/lies, sharing and exchange of info and above all, the much needed basic primal instinct of humans - SEX.

I know you guys have been working really hard to weed out the idiots so kudos to you and Keep up the good work, Sammyboy and team!

Really look forward to more good stuff ahead! :D

Why the need for "Geo Restriction" screening initially when you were migrating the site to NZ? Are you trying to prevent certain nationalities from "invading" your site?

No it was to gather an accurate picture of where all the connections were coming from over a 24 hour period.

Don't worry no nicks were tracked. It was only data gathering.

Boss don't ever believe what you read, Singaporeans what they speak may not be what they really want. I came across an interesting saying:

A man has three faces
One he shows to his loved ones
One he shows to the general public
And the last that he only shows to himself

To me I always believe there is a darkness in every man. Its only whether they want to set the demon free or not. Others is a constant struggle to maintain that facade but others like me chose live by the above saying.

Hello sammyboyfor,

I would like to express my appreciation for this forum, which is no doubt a fruit of your hard labor. I did not know exactly where to post my message, and thought that this thread might be appropriate.

Would you consider implementing a subscribe function? (It generally cost $4-5 to subscribe) Much like the ones on twitchtv? Except that even being a subscriber brings no additional perks, to maintain the premium of a full membership.

I for one would gladly subscribe on a monthly basis, just to show my appreciation. And I'm sure there are like minded bros like me who do not want a full membership, but still want to show our appreciation.

I've been away from the forum for 6 years now and am just catching up on the news. Kudos to the boss for moving the site to NZ. I'm all for it! I've been living in NZ on and off for 36 years and loving every minute of it. I've also lived in Oz on and off for 2 years and there is no comparison between the two countries; IMHO NZ is streaks ahead in terms of lifestyle, peacefulness, and racial harmony and equality.

Hi Boss, sorry, I'm only just catching up on the news after being away from the forum for 6 years!

First of all, my congratulations to you for making the brave decision to move the site to NZ. You have my full support! :) In fact, if there is anything you would like me to help with please let me know. I'm retired, more or less, and has time on my side...

For many Sporeans, NZ seems a long way away but not really. There are multiple daily flights between the two countries and Auckland has become a much more cosmopolitan city in the past few years with many more immigrants from Asia choosing to settle here. Although Auckland is not as big as rival cities across the ditch like Sydney and Melbourne, it has its upside by being smaller and more attractive, nature-wise. For example, you have no fear of being suddenly attacked by creepy crawley creatures like poisonous scorpions, spiders, snakes, etc. Heck, there are not even snakes in NZ! :D

I'm sure you are very familiar with the scene in NZ with all the publicity about Kim Dotcom and whatnot. NZ has been my home for the past 36 years and I love every minute of it here. Although I'm not Sporean, the only other country that I could live in on a permanent basis is Spore... only becos of the food and the gals, in that order liao!:p

Immigration to NZ, and Auckland in particular, is still growing, which means property values will continue to climb in the foreseeable future. One big advantage of investing in Auckland is you will reap the rewards, which if you play it right, is tax free.

Based on records over the past 20 years you can expect to double the value of your Auckland in just over 7 years on average!

There are still plenty of opportunities to invest in the Auckland market. You should look at the less well known suburbs in Auckland if you want to maximize on the capital gain.

i see the property prices in auckland have close the gap with properties prices in sydney /melbourne

do u think the auckland property price is close to the peak now? or is there really more potential for the price to go up?? ...surely we cannot expect to double it ??

Prices in Auckland will keep rising simply because demand will outstrip supply. When we look at the number of new houses being built or in the pipeline and compare them with the number of new immigrants, not just from overseas but also from other regions outside of Auckland, the projection is that there will continue to be a shortage of accommodation for at least another 10 if not 20 years!

There is still not enough capital investment going into housing at this stage. There is also another problem; there are not enough skilled trades people around. The Christchurch rebuild (after the earthquake) will go on for another 5 to 10 years and the government had to grant working visas to hundreds of Filipinos, just to keep building industry in Christchurch moving, at a painfully slow pace because there are just not enough workers around!

It seems that the NZ government is looking for skilled professionals from Asian countries to participate in the NZ workforce. Would UK/Singapore-qualified lawyers fall under this category. If so, roughly how many years of working experience is required?

I am a Singaporean Law graduate who obtained my law degree from the UK. Just wondering if working in NZ (including gaining admission to the NZ bar) as a solicitor would be a possibility for me. Just to add, I am an Australian-born former citizen of Australia (when I was a baby) if this would make any difference...

Thanks.

Thanks sammyboyfor. My degree is recognised in NZ just that I will have to go through certain conversion stages to familiarise myself with NZ law. I may have issues with getting residency (although I'm OZ-born) because my OZ citizenship was renounced with no attempts whatsoever to reapply for it.

If you reapply and get your OZ citizenship back, you automatically qualify for NZ residency.

Since your degree is recognised I believe all you have to do is work under the guidance of an established firm for a period of time before you can practice on your own.
